Please be advised that as a result of a recent Microsoft vulnerability
notice MS12-020[1], and in order to better secure the University's
computing systems and data, York University's network will no longer allow
insecure connections using Windows Remote Desktop, from outside York.

This change is expected to impact very few, but will affect those who are
using Remote Desktop to access their office workstation from home, or
other off-campus location. Where such remote access is required, UIT
recommends the use of the SSLVPN service[2], which is intended to provide
secure remote access to York computing resources.
